X-Rays
Effective podiatry treatment relies on accurate answers and diagnoses. The feet contain so many bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and soft tissues, a correct diagnosis requires being able to see inside the foot. Seeing the bones and joints is essential as a starting point in the diagnostic process.
X-ray testing is usually the first step to discovering possible bone pathology causing a painful foot or ankle. Our state-of-the-art digital x-ray system provides our staff with cutting-edge technology and immediate images to view. Digital x-rays require less radiation than traditional x-rays, making them safer for the patient as well as our x-ray technicians. Once an x-ray is obtained, the image is transmitted directly to the computer screen, and those images are easily shared from computer to computer in the office, as well as being easily shared with other doctors that may need them during treatment.
The drastically reduced viewing time allows Dr. Shari L. Kaminsky to provide faster treatment and pain relief. The digital images can also be adjusted for better definition. They can be lightened, darkened, or magnified to highlight specific areas.
Digital x-rays are also better for the environment and leaving a smaller carbon footprint on the earth. Dangerous processing chemicals are not needed for digital x-rays.
Appropriate protection from radiation is still used with digital x-rays. Even though smaller radiation is needed, we take all precautions to protect our patients and staff from the possibility of radiation buildup over time.
